1. Who I Am
This privacy policy applies to Stoke Van Locks, a mobile van lock fitting service operating in and around Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire.
I am the data controller for any personal information you provide to me.

2. What Personal Data I Collect
When you use the quote request form on my website, I collect the following information:
- Your name
- Phone number
- Email address (if provided)
- Postcode
- Van make, model, and year
- Details about the security work you require
- Any additional information you provide in the notes field
When you contact me directly by phone, email, or WhatsApp, I may also collect information you provide during that conversation.
3. Why I Collect This Data
I use the information you provide to:
- Respond to your quote request or enquiry
- Provide a price for the work you've described
- Arrange a fitting appointment if you proceed
- Follow up on an open quote (within its 30-day validity period)
Legal basis for processing: I process your data on the basis of your consent (when you submit the contact form) and/or my legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries.
4. How I Store Your Data
Form submissions made via my website are processed by Netlify, Inc. (my website hosting and form processing provider), which stores form submissions on its servers in the United States. Netlify is covered by appropriate data processing agreements and operates under EU/UK GDPR-compatible standard contractual clauses.
When I reply to your enquiry, your contact details may be stored in my email inbox or on a personal device used by the business. I do not use a CRM system.
I do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
5. How Long I Keep Your Data
- Quote request data: retained for up to 6 months, then deleted.
- Customer data (where a job is completed): retained for up to 3 years for warranty and business purposes, then deleted.
- Email correspondence: retained in line with standard email retention practices; deleted when no longer relevant.
6. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights:
- Right of access: You can request a copy of the personal data I hold about you.
- Right to rectification: You can ask me to correct any inaccurate data.
- Right to erasure: You can ask me to delete your data, subject to any legal obligations I have to retain it.
- Right to restrict processing: You can ask me to limit how I use your data.
- Right to object: You can object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Right to data portability: You can request your data in a portable format.

If you are unhappy with how I handle your data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) .
7. Cookies & Tracking
My website does not currently use tracking or analytics cookies. I use localStorage (stored only in your browser) to remember your cookie preference. This does not involve any data being sent to my servers.
